We first started Gold Coast Antique Auctions in 1994, and for various reasons suspended our sales from mid-1997 til now. I, (D. C. Price) have been involved in the auction and antiques business for over 40 years, and conduct business the "old fashioned way", re: I do what I say, and say what I do. To my knowledge, this has never led to any problems with any customer who was honorable. Anything I say about an antique I stand behind without question. In the case of "left bids", I (personally) will bid for you against the floor. Simply put, I run my business in the way that I was taught back in "Norman Rockwell's America"; be willing to take either side of all transactions. We do not actively solicit consignments, and we will accept them only on our terms; we find this eliminates lots of potential problems. We accept cash (USD), good checks, and credit cards. Oriental carpets are, sadly, cash only (many of you know why). We cannot be in the shipping/ storage business, but can accommodate most reasonable people. Shippers are known and available when needed. It is our goal to be "simply the best" in all facets of our business relationships, and believe this philosophy to be sustainable.
