Brent Voorheis grew up in the auction business. His father, R. E., started auctioneering in 1959 and is still active in the business. Brent received an excellent start in the basics of an auction. Brent began working with the advance preparation and display of an auction. Later he graduated to cashiering, clerking, catching bids. He attended Missouri Auction School in 1972.
Brent is a member of the Missouri Professional Auctioneers Association. He served as President in 1982 and currently serves as a director of the MPAA. Brent was inducted into the MPAA Hall of Fame in 1986. He also won the Missouri State Fair Auctioneers Championship in 1985. While being a champion bid caller, Brent understands that there is more to a successful auction than the auctioneer's chant.
Brent earned the Certified Auctioneer Institute designation (CAI) in 1982. Brent also has earned the CES designation representing a Certified Estate Specialist. Brent's additional auction education includes Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate classes and Benefit Auctioneer Specialist classes. Through the National Association of Realtors, Brent earned the Graduate of the Realtors Institute (GRI) designation.
Brent regularly works charity auctions for numerous community organizations, such as Pascale's Pals, Friends of NRA, Big Brothers Big Sisters Countdown to Kickoff, Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture, local churches, several local schools and others.
Brent is an active member in the following professional organizations: National Auctioneers Association, Certified Auctioneer Institute, Missouri Professional Auctioneers Association. He is an accomplished Auctioneer, a Missouri Licensed Real Estate Broker and owner of Voorheis Auction & Realty, LLC.
