Ruth Ludwig Lind, GPPA, Maine Lic. #1571, serves as Vice President of the Maine Auctioneers Association. She graduated from the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering, and has completed numerous courses of graduate study in the field of Auctioneering, concentrating in Benefit Auctions and appraisals.

She regularly studies bid-calling with several International Auctioneer Champions, including Renee Jones, Jill Marie Wiles, Spanky Assiter, Shannon Sewell Mays, Paul C. Behr, Barbara Bonnette and Amy Assiter. She has completed an extensive class in Personal Property Appraisal and the Uniform Standards of Property Appraisal Practice, and a number of in depth courses in the field of Benefit Auctions, including Benefit Auction Specialist, BootCamp for Benefit Auctioneers and the National Auctioneers Association's Benefit Auction Specialist class. She regularly pursues her study of the field through the many courses offered by the National Auctioneers Association and Benefit Auction professionals.

Moxie Auctions is Maine’s only dedicated Benefit Auctioneer, working extensively with clients on all phases of planning and preparing for their Benefit Auctions. As one recent client put it, “Ruth earned her fee in the first consulting phone call alone!"

Ruth is an active member of the National Auctioneers Association, the Maine Auctioneers Association, The American Quilters Society and the American Quilt Study Group. She regularly assists other local Auctioneers, and participates daily in Benefit, Appraisal and General Auctioneering forums and networks.

Before immersing herself in the exciting world of Auctioneering, Ruth was a news broadcaster and magazine editor, international commercial balloon pilot, and later a real estate developer. She is a self-confessed failure at retirement.

She holds a BA in Modern Languages and Art History from the University of Maine, and serves her community on various municipal boards and committees.

When she is not working with Maine schools and non-profits to maximize their fundraising goals, you will find Ruth in her studio creating quilts and fiber art, hiking the woods and shore with her dogs, riding her motorcycle or traveling the world with her very patient husband, David.
