In 1973 Kermit and Gloria Cote started Cote Auction in Presque Isle, Maine then relocated their business to Millinocket and Central Maine in 1993. Through the years, Cote Auction has performed over 700 auctions from Maine to Texas including over 100 on-site sales. The most-talked about auctions were Gloria's vintage-clothing sales in Gardiner, Maine and their numerous toy auctions held at their former auction house in Monticello, Maine. Sadly, Gloria passed away in May of 2006 but Kermit still maintains the business. During the Spring through Fall months, he runs an antique shop next to his home in Millinocket. Kermit enjoys boating, fishing and hunting and auctions for several local civic organizations. |
