In 1947 my grandfather Jake Enns started the company which at that time was known as Jake A. Enns Auctioneer. He auctioned for approxametly 40 years, serving all of south central Manitoba. During this time he gave a starting opportunity to most of the new auctioneers. Then in 1970, he was joined by his son, my father, Almer Enns. This is when it became Enns Auctions. They worked together for many years as partners. In 1977 Jake semi-retired and Almer Enns took over the company changing the name to A.J Enns Auctions. Almer continued the business on a part time level for many years. In 1994 Jeff Enns joined with Almer as a partner to create what is now known as A.J Enns and Son Auctions. Over the course of the last 60 years the quality and integrity of the company reputation has remained the most important factor of what we do. My Grandpa used to always say “if you don’t take the small one, you don’t deserve the big one”. The technologies have improved but the philosophies remain the same.
We have a proud history in the auction industry and feel that our customer and the buyer are important to us. Three generations of service is more then a slogan, it is the very lineage by which I have learned and been taught this skill and trade.
I am very proud of where this company has come from, and am excited by where it is going.
