This will be an excellent auction featuring Southern Americana & fine art from the Estate of Mr. James Coman, sold to benefit the Western North Carolina Land Trust; rare coins and books from the Collection of General W.H. Vanderlinden, Jr, late of Hickory, North Carolina; the Estate of Ms. Helen Cobb, Roanoke, Virginia; southern furniture from a Greensboro, North Carolina lady; items sold to benefit the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Middleburg, VA;an Eastern Virginia bottle collection; plus fine antiques and collectibles from institutions, estates and collectors
 

Southern & Americana:  North Carolina Thomas Day wardrobe; sugar chest; several inlaid & period chests; curly maple table; beds; Piedmont, Virginia corner cupboard & five-drawer chest; two early 19th Century sideboards – Orange County, NC & VA; North Carolina huntboard; several dining tables, tea tables & candlestands; sets of chairs; inlaid corner cupboard; alkaline glazed North Carolina crock.  Several nice early portraits including a pair of early Virginia watercolor portraits; Virginia ladies portrait, circa 1840; New England lady, circa 1820.  Several nice lots of American silver – Ball, Thompkins & Black Ewer, five Truslow tablespoons, Lynchburg, VA.  Folk art tray by Sam McMillan; fine Patek Philippe pocket watches, one retailed by C.F. Books:  An important collection of 60 fore edge painted books including a nine volume set of “The Plays of Shakespeare”; ten volume set of “Poetical Works of Thomas Moore”; four volume set of “The Poetical Works of William Wordworth”; several double fore edge painted examples, etc.  “Book of Maps:  the American Military Atlas”, R. Sayer & J. Bennet, London, 1776.  “A New Sett of Maps Both of Ancient & Present Geography”, Edward Wells, M.A., London, N.D. (1700).

Coins:  Rare coins, with many difficult coins to locate.  Includes five gold coins by Bechtler of North Carolina; Charlotte and Dahlonega gold coins; group of US and foreign gold (all gold certified by PCGS, NGC, ANACS).  Proof 64; 1858 Flying Eagle Cent (PCGS); CC Morgan Dollars (GSA- uncirculated); 1988 Gold Eagle Proof Set (four coins); two BU Morgan Dollar rolls; Eisenhower Complete 32 coin set (BU); Proof 3 Cent Nickels (PCGS); US Commemorative Coins; Proof American Eagle $50 Gold Coins; other Morgan, Peace dollars and type coins.
