About the Owner: Thomas Wojtas Bio: Born and raised in Detroit (1955-2004). Education: Cass Tech High, 1979 Bachelor Art History Wayne State University (scholarship), 1984 Masters of Art History from University of Michigan, 1985 PhD in Art History from City University of New York. Work Experience: 1977 Research Assistant DIA, 1980 Assistant/Curator for Frederick Cummings Collection(former DIA Director), 1985 Artist Agent and researcher for various NY Galleries, 1990 moved back to Detroit to curate exhibits at various Detroit area galleries and events (annual fundraiser for Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory on Belle Isle) Writer & Critic for international Art magazines including Sculpture Magazine, World Sculpture News, Asian Art News, Art Papers Atlanta, New Art Examiner, and Detroit Focus Quarterly. From 1980 to 2004 Thomas was a collector of Fine Art Photographs and Works on Paper including many Detroit area artists. 2000-2004, United States Custom Agent (Art Examiner) Note: Items from his collection have been loaned for Museum exhibits and Detroit area gallery shows (Museum of New Art Pontiac MI, Etc).
