Some of the highlights from this auction include early editions of works from Charles Dickens - including a tour guide to 1800's London. Books dating back to the 1700's, hundreds of vintage and antique pieces of sheet music - including some VERY politically incorrect ones, as well as many relating to WWI, and a sizeable collection of collectibles & souvenirs from various World's Fairs & Expositions, including the Chicago World's Fair, St. Louis World's Fair, and Paris 1900 Exposition.

1st Edition, Vol. 1 & 2 - 1878-79 L. Prang & Co. Boston. Brown textured, gilt decorated/lettered cloth. This is Meehan's masterwork, and one of the leading authorities on ferns in America. It is also a notable 19th-century American color plate book, issued by Prang of Boston, the leading chromolithographer of the period. Roughing on the binding edges, pages and interior appear to be in overall excellent condition. Outer surfaces of the binding & cover show their age. Overall good condition on both books, with 96 total excellent high-color illustrated chromolithographs.

"The Universal Exposition Beautifully Illustrated" published by Official Photographic Company, St. Louis, U.S.A., Robert A. Reid - this is an official photographic souvenir book, printed in 1904 for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition Co. for the St. Louis World's Fair. This item is in its original box, and includes 4 unused tickets to the exposition, a postcard from the exposition, and the photo book itself. Everything aside from the outer box is in mint condition - the box itself has some moderate signs of wear, including tape on one corner. Unbelievable condition on the interior items.

1900 French Exposition Universelle Internationale Commemorative Copper Medallion & Original Case
Case marked "Exposition Universelle Internationale RF Paris 1878" on top cover, "Medaille Commemorative Offerte Pour Services Rendus Charles Alexandre Romary Sous-Brigadier De La Police Municipale" on interior lid. Medallion is copper, measures approx. 3 3/8 inches in diameter, and is marked "Exposition Universelle Internationale MDCCCLXXVIII" on the front - with a design showing a robe wearing man (quite likely intended to be a representation of a Greco-Roman God) at the center of a grouping of other religious/scientific figures including Mercury and 3 other adult figures holding various artistic & scientific instruments, two younger figures are seated at his feet, and a womans figure holding grapes is presented laying beneath. The reverse is marked similarly, and shows a pair of cherubs holding aloft a scroll showing a map - presumably of the fair grounds.

Collection includes two flags from the 1985 VP fair, a commemorative pin tray from the '85 fair made by Haviland Limoges, a 1941 VP fair item, and most interestingly, a small rolled poster from the 1900 St. Louis Chamber of Commerce which states "You are hereby commanded to appear at the Grand Festival in honor of the Veiled Prophet and his Court - Oct. 2nd 1900 - with a colorful depiction of the prophet and his court in the background.
