John was born and raised here in Kentucky. After graduating from high school and attending Eastern Kentucky University, John enlisted in the United States Air Force. Upon returning from the service John chose a career in law enforcement and has since retired. It was then he became interested in auctoneering. He served his apprenticeship and is now a Kentucky licensed principal auctioneer. He and his wife Lori, are co-owners of Ballard & Ballard Auctions and Properties, LLC.
